JoystickVault collects account data you provide (email, username, profile fields) and content you upload.
We use this data to operate the gallery, authenticate sessions, and moderate the vault.
Contact uplink submissions are stored so we can respond to bug reports and general queries.

TELEMETRY AND DATA COLLECTION
JoystickVault operates on a strict data-minimization protocol. This document outlines the telemetry we collect to maintain system stability.
1. USER ACCOUNT DATA
When you initialize an account, we store your email address and an encrypted hash of your password. We do not store plain-text passwords. Your email is used exclusively for system notifications, password recovery, and moderation comms.
2. HARDWARE UPLOADS (S3 BUCKET)
Images uploaded to the vault are processed, compressed, and stored in our secure AWS S3 environment. By uploading telemetry (photos), you grant JoystickVault permission to host and display these images globally.
3. AUTOMATION DEFENSE
We utilize Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our login and registration nodes from automated botnet attacks. This service operates invisibly and may analyze browser behavior to distinguish humans from automated scripts.
4. COOKIES AND LOCAL STATE
We use secure, encrypted session cookies to keep you authenticated. We do not deploy third-party advertising trackers.
